Form Properties: General Info

General Info allows you to edit the most basic information about your form, such as the name and the description of the form, upload a header image, adjust the timezone for your submissions, access the embed code or direct URL for the form, and adjust the form category.

Form Name

If you used a template to create your form, the form will have a generic name. This tab is where you can rename the form to fit your campaign or event.

Description

A form description is a great place to include details about your event or campaign, keeping in mind they may not be viewing the form within your website. Some organizations use this space to give details about processing fees or even a mission statement.

Header Image

Adding a header image to your form is simple! Click Upload Image, then simply select an image from your device storage. Best practice is to select a long rectangular "banner style" image with a ratio of 16:9 (about 1000x500 pixels) similar to the image below.

Field Validation

By default, each Field you add to your form will be "optional" to the individual completing the form. You can turn each field to "required" within that Field's Properties. Depending whether you want to indicate the "optional" or "required" fields, you'll select that preference here.

QR Code

Each form will produce a unique QR Code for easy sharing. You'll be able to download the QR Code and use it for posters, slide presentations, brochures and more.

Embed Code

You can embed your form so it displays within your website. (Don’t let the word “embed” intimidate you! It simply means ‘copy and paste' your form into your website).

We recommend this option because:

  • It’s streamlined – keeping donors or registrants on your site!

  • Donors are more likely to give when your giving form is branded and in a location they recognize.

Below is a simple example of a church with their giving form embedded.

Send this embed code to your website administrator and they should be able to add it to your website. If you’re not sure what to say, write, “Please embed this code to display our home page (or where ever you prefer). You can do it the same way you would embed a YouTube video” – they’ll understand what you mean.

Every website provider/platform is a little bit different, so if you need specific “how-to” instructions on embedding a script related to your website software, your website provider should be able to assist you.

A Note on Security: If embedding a Giving/Payment Form on a website, it MUST be placed on a page with SSL encryption (https). If you’re not sure how to enable SSL on your website, please contact your website administrator or provider. It’s typically a very simple process!

Direct Link

When it comes to sharing your form, using the direct link is a little less technical than using the Embed Code. You'll need to copy this form link and paste it where ever you'd like to share your form.

Different from the embed code, this link will temporarily navigate your donor or registrants away from your internal site to complete the form. You can easily set up a re-direct back to your website to once the user has completed and submitted the form in the Submission tab of Form Properties.

Time Zone

The time zone selected within the form will impact submission open and close dates for registration form submissions. Open and close dates can be set in the Submission tab.

Categories

When a form is created using the provided templates, a Category will often be pre-selected. Categories will impact three important factors:

  1. Manager Permissions: keep in mind that each Manager will only be able to access the form Categories selected for their portal.

  2. Verbiage on the form: a few "help text" lines on the form are static and cannot be customized; however, categorizing a form as Event Registration, for example, will read "Make this payment recurring" verses a form categorized as "General Donation" will read "Make this gift recurring."

  3. Mobile App integration: the category you set for a form dictates which Module it can appear in. For example, only a "Contact Form" will appear as an option for the "Contact" Module.

Note on Categories: If you Categorize a form as "Event Registration" this will enable the option for Ticketing.
