Tips for Your Holiday Event

Planning and managing an event like a community Easter egg hunt involves clear organization and leveraging the right tools to execute it effectively. Below, we’ll guide you through how to set this up in your Giving, People, Media, and Website modules within your Amplify account.

Video Guide: Tips for Your Holiday Event

Giving

Let’s start with the Giving module. First, if you plan on collecting payments or donations, we suggest creating a Fund for your event (e.g., Easter Egg Hunt 2025). Learn more about Fund Management.

Once the fund has been made, we suggest creating a form for people to register to help you plan how many to expect. We have provided templates to make it easy to get started! You can customize your form to add a graphic, change the font, and more! Once your form has been created, you can set up ticketing and share it in a few different ways (e.g., link, text a keyword, QR code, etc.). Learn more about sharing forms.

People

People are the focal point of every event. Whether you need to keep up with volunteers or registrants, you can use the People module to create a group and set up a workflow to use mass contact to send email reminders and important information.

Increase community awareness and involvement with a "public" calendar view (events filtered by property (tag) or series of them). Effortlessly embed or sync it with your Amplify website or mobile app. Learn how to set up calendar views.

Media

As an Amplify customer, you are provided access to the Media module at no extra charge and receive the following for free:

  • still backgrounds
  • still title images
  • Spanish still titles images

Our Premium account includes everything in the free account, plus many more media types and customization tools. (Learn more about everything that comes with Amplify Media Premium).

For example, the Designer Tool allows you to edit a graphic by adding text, filters, and colors (below)

Website

Your website is a powerful tool for your community to get important information about your ministry.

Add an events page featuring your calendar view from People (via embed code), a registration form from Giving (via a link or embed code), and a graphic downloaded from Media. (For Cloud websites, use the Embed element; for WordPress, use the HTML widget). See our best-practice guide for more about adding pages and optimizing your website!

We know there is much to do when planning and executing an event. We want to make this as easy as possible so you can get to what matters—the people. Whether your event is big or small, connecting with people and getting them involved in a good community is the real win.
