Push Notifications and In-App Messages

Use push notifications and in-app messages to update your community about important events, reminders, announcements, and more! Send them immediately or schedule them in advance!

A Push Notification appears on an individual's phone's home screen (below left) and is also delivered as an In-App Message in the Messages section of the mobile app (below right).

Note: Push notifications are free to send! Unlike text or email messages, they will only be delivered to your mobile app users.

Create or Schedule a Notification

(1) Click the Pencil icon in the header to open the Messages area (below).

(2) Click the + New Message button to start a new message. The message editor will appear (below).

(3) Add a Title and a Message, then select whether you'd like your message sent immediately or scheduled for later.

  • Send Right Away: Your message will be sent as soon as you click Send Now. Afterward, you can find it under the Messages > History tab.

  • Schedule for Later: Select a date and time to send your message. You can review or edit it under the Messages > Scheduled tab until the send time is reached (below).

When the message is delivered, it will appear as a Push Notification on an individual's phone home screen and in the Messages area of your app.

Pro-Tip: You can copy and paste emojis into messages from an outside source, like a Google Doc. For example, see the guitar emoji above! 😀

Under the Action menu (above right), you can:

  • Edit-Message-Icon-16x16.png  Edit a message
  • Delete-Message-Trash-Can-Icon-16x16.png Delete a message

Note: If you Edit or Delete a message after it is sent, the changes are only reflected within your browser-based Messages area.

In other words, Edit and Delete do not affect message display within a user's mobile app.
