Push Notifications and In-App Messages

Use push notifications and in-app messages to update your community about important events, reminders, or announcements!

A Push Notification appears on an individual's phone's home screen (below left). The same message is also displayed in the Messages section of the mobile app (below right).

Note: Push notifications are free to send; they are not text or email messages, so they will only be delivered to your mobile app users.

Create or Schedule a Notification

  1. In the header, click the Pencil icon to open the Messages area (below).

  2. To start a new message, click the + New Message button. The message editor will appear (below).

  1. Add a Title and a Message, then select whether you'd like your message sent immediately or scheduled for later.

  2. Sent right away: Your message will be sent as soon as you click Send Now. Afterward, you can find it under the Messages > History tab (below).

  3. Schedule for Later: Select a date and time to send your message. You can review or edit it under the Messages > Scheduled tab until the send time is reached.

When the message is delivered, it will appear as a Push Notification on an individual's phone home screen and in the Messages area of your app.

Pro-Tip: You can copy and paste emojis into messages from an outside source, like a Google Doc. For example, see the guitar emoji above! 😀
